Changes in store for The Dixie Echoes

DAVID INGRAM

The Dixie Echoes bass singer Jordan Wilson announced this week that he’s leaving the group. Jordan has served with The Dixie Echoes for 4 years.  A familiar face to Dixie Echoes fans will take his place.  Mark Cates, who has previously been a part of the lineup will rejoin The Dixie Echoes.

The group said in a statement this week that Jordan, “…has been a vital part of our family and we will certainly miss him. People have fallen in love with him all over the country, and he is a great Christian young man. We wish Jordan the very best in his future endeavors.”

The Dixie Echoes are planning a new recording very soon with the current lineup, including Trenton Williamson on tenor, Scoot Shelnut on baritone, and SGMA Hall Of Fame member Randy Shelnut, Sr. on lead. The album will include some old Dixie Echoes favorites, and some new songs in the classic Dixie Echoes style.

The numbers are in… The Lore Family’s I Bring You Jesus is our #1 this month

David Ingram

A song co-written by Marcia Henry, Rachel McCutcheon and Darren W. Lore is this month’s #1 on the Texas Gospel Canada Top 30 songs. I Bring You Jesus by The Lore Family is our July Chart Topper!

The Texas Gospel Canada Top 30 comes from a direct monthly audit of every song played on our Southern Gospel stream during the preceding month and our list is submitted to The Singing News and Southern Gospel Scoops.

I Bring You Jesus was popular even before it was chosen for the Lore Family’s project The World Needs a Song.

“Folks immediately respond. I did a generic poll on social media. I asked what song really connected with those who had heard our project. ‘I Bring You Jesus’ was the top song!” said Darren Lore.

You’ll hear the song in our fast rotation throughout July.

Mark Trammell Quartet Announces New Bass Singer

DAVID INGRAM

The Mark Trammel Quartet made a big announcement on the quartet’s Facebook page this morning:

“After 3 months, 31 resumes, and much prayer, Mark Trammell Quartet is thrilled to announce that our new bass singer will be Mr. Will Lane!

Mark relates: Will is no stranger to the Gospel Music world. He has most recently served as bass vocalist for the popular Lefevre Quartet. While this is a bittersweet time in the world of Gospel Music with the announcement of the retirement of the Lefevre Quartet, Will has elected to continue to spread the good news of Jesus through song and we are delighted to welcome him and his family to the MTQ family!

Will joins us the week of July 19 and we are excited about the future of this ministry with a man who is already loved and respected by so many! Please join Nick, Stephen, Trevor, Kevin, and myself in welcoming Will, Misti, and their family to the world of the Mark Trammell Quartet!

We would like to thank every man who showed interest in being a part of this ministry! The response has truly warmed our hearts! Special thanks to Mr. Keith Inman, and Mr. Jon Epley of Greater Vision, for their willingness to fill the bass position during our time of transition and seeking for the right man.

We covet your prayers as we begin the next phase of our journey together!

Blessings,
Mark Trammell

JEFF TURNER

A long-time name in Southern Gospel Music has announced retirement from full-time ministry.

The LeFevre Quartet’s announcement begins with Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”

The group says the decision comes, “after much prayer and consideration.”

The quartet will continue their full-time schedule throughout the fall

The LeFevre name goes back to 1921 and has been through lots of changes through the decades. JEFF TURNER

Master’s Men‘s vocalist Keith Morgan suffered a traumatic fall Tuesday June 14 while setting up for a singing at the Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home in Texas.

A family member’s Facebook post says he has remained in an ICU in Houston with a brain bleed, hemorrhagic stroke, and other complications. Keith was diagnosed with liver cancer a little over a year ago and has undergone treatment so he already had a lot of medical expenses.
