The Importance of Sharing the Gospel: A Biblical Perspective

Jesus gave a clear command to His followers: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19 NASB). This Great Commission calls all believers to spread the Good News, not just through distant missions or donations, but through personal action and involvement.

In Mark 16:15, Jesus instructed His disciples to go into all the world and preach to all creation. This mission isn’t about hiding behind screens or only supporting missionaries; it’s a direct call for each believer to actively share the gospel.

Worship services are important for gathering, singing hymns, taking communion, and honoring God. However, we are called to do more. We must take an active role in fulfilling the Great Commission. Have you shared the gospel in your community? Have you personally gone out to spread the message of Jesus Christ?

Let’s not limit our faith to church walls. Instead, let’s embrace the command to make disciples everywhere we go.

Hal Lindsey, Influential Christian Author, Passes Away at 95 according to website

Hal Lindsey, a prominent writer and television host known for his apocalyptic Christian literature, died on Tuesday according to his website. His death was announced just two days after he celebrated his 95th birthday.

Lindsey gained widespread recognition for his book “The Late Great Planet Earth,” published in 1970 by Zondervan. The publication quickly became a bestseller, arriving shortly after the Six-Day War and significantly contributing to discussions about dispensationalist theology and support for ethnic Jews.

A graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master of Theology degree, Lindsey specialized in New Testament and early Greek literature. He pursued ministry work with Campus Crusade for Christ until 1969 and later supported a Southern California mission until 1976. During this period, he also served as a speaker and Sunday School teacher at Melodyland Christian Center in Anaheim, California.

Lindsey’s media career included hosting the “International Intelligence Briefing” on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). In 2005, the network temporarily removed his program, with Lindsey suggesting the decision related to his pro-Israel messaging. TBN’s owner, Paul Crouch, countered that the show was simply pre-empted for Christmas programming.

After resigning from TBN in January 2006, Lindsey launched “The Hal Lindsey Report,” a program focusing on biblical prophecy and current events. By January 2007, he had returned to the TBN network, financing the program independently.

In 1994, Lindsey earned a Doctorate of Theology from the California Graduate School of Theology. He continued writing throughout his career, with many of his subsequent works building upon themes introduced in his first book.

The specific cause of Lindsey’s death was not disclosed in the initial announcement.

INTERNATIONAL: Criminal attack on Bangladeshi Catholic school

On November 24, vandals attacked and looted the well-known Catholic institution, St. Gregory’s School and College in Old Dhaka.

A mob of 30 to 35 students executed the attack amidst ongoing street violence involving students from multiple colleges. The assault persisted for several hours, causing significant damage estimated at $100,000.

In response to the violence, school authorities have indefinitely suspended classes.

During the attack, the vandals severely damaged the school premises and office rooms. They assaulted two security guards and looted property. The attackers also set off crude bombs, causing panic among those present.

The violence is believed to have been triggered by clashes following the death of Abhijit Halder, a college student, on November 18. His death has been attributed to alleged negligence at Dhaka National Medical College and Hospital.

The interim government, led by the Yunus administration, has condemned the attacks, labelling them as politically motivated. Authorities have pledged to identify and arrest those responsible for the incident.

Artist Feature: The Erwins

In the small town of Edgewood, Texas, a unique musical legacy continues through the harmonies of The Erwins, a Southern Gospel group composed of four siblings who have spent their entire lives on the road sharing their music.

Keith, Kody, Kris, and Katie Erwin grew up in a family where ministry and music were inseparable parts of daily life. Their father, a full-time evangelist for nearly five decades, brought his children along as he traveled across the United States, allowing them to develop their musical gifts from the moment they could speak.

For years, the three brothers performed as a trio until 2013, when their sister Katie joined them on stage, transforming The Erwins into a mixed group. Today, they maintain a demanding schedule of more than 270 performances annually at concerts, revivals, and conferences throughout the country.

Each member brings their own strengths to the group. Keith, who serves as the lead singer, balances his musical career with family life, having welcomed his son Landry Thomas in December 2020 with his wife Lindsey. When not performing, he finds time for fishing, golfing, and basketball.
Kody, married to Cayla and father to daughters Laney Brooke and Ivey Reign, handles the technical aspects of their performances, managing the sound system during shows. His off-stage interests mirror his brother’s, including fishing, golfing, and softball.

Kris, the group’s songwriter, wrote his first composition “Watch and See” in 2018. He creates the setlists for their performances and produces their lyric music videos. In his spare time, he enjoys movies, biking, and reading.

Katie, who married Logan Headrick in October 2022, manages the group’s social media presence. She maintains an interest in shopping and fashion trends when not traveling with her brothers.
“Singing is all we know and all we want to do,” Keith explains. “It’s our life and our joy to serve the Lord with the voices He has given us. We will gladly go through any door He chooses to open, no matter how big or small. We know the Lord doesn’t need us, but He chooses to use us, and for that we are thankful.”

This new generation of Southern Gospel performers from Edgewood continues to share their music, carrying forward a family tradition of ministry through song.

God’s Eternal Nature: Beyond Time’s Boundaries

The concept of God’s eternity stretches far beyond human understanding. Unlike humans who are trapped within time’s linear progression, God stands outside of temporal constraints, viewing all of history simultaneously.

Scripture reveals that God’s perspective transcends our limited perception. As Psalm 90:4 declares, “For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.” This verse illustrates how time means something completely different to God.

God is not bound by moments, memories, or anticipations. He does not experience time as we do. Instead, He sees all of history in a single, vivid panorama. From creation to the fall, from ancient civilizations to modern assemblies, every event exists simultaneously before His eternal gaze.

The fundamental truth about God’s eternity is His complete freedom from time’s limitations. While humans are inherently time-bound creatures, moving between a fixed past and an unknown future, God stands apart. He cannot be constrained by something He has made.

In essence, God’s existence is timeless. He is unbound, unlimited, and sovereign over every moment of history, watching over the grand narrative of existence with perfect, comprehensive understanding.
