The Lore Family’s “God Said You’re Gonna Make It” reminds us He will follow through

SPECIAL: CROSSROADS RECORDS

Arden, North Carolina (April 19, 2024) β€” The Lore Family’s “Jesus Does” may just be starting to make its way up the Southern Gospel charts, but the Horizon Records recording artist is dishing up more new music β€” and this time, it’s aimed directly at making new fans for the Ohio-based musical ministry. Written in the 1990s, “God Said You’re Gonna Make It” has been popular with congregations and choirs for years, yet recordings of the song are few and far between, and it has never been released as a single until now.

Though Fayth Lore Whisnant takes a supporting role on this song β€” father Darren and mother Sandy have the lead vocals on the song’s two inspirational verses β€” she puts her finger on the essence of “God Said You’re Gonna Make It,” noting that “doubt is something that every Believer has dealt with in their life. In fact, doubt is what Satan used in The Garden of Eden to convince Eve to take the bite of the forbidden fruit. He asked Eve:  ‘Hath God said?’

“Since Eden, Satan has continued to ask us that same question …’Has God really said’;  ‘Can you truly take God at His word?’ The disciples faced faith-shaking doubt on the raging sea. The circumstances around them quickly made them forget that Jesus Christ had already told them that they were going to be going to the other side. (Mark 4:35)”

With its classic syncopation, prominent organ and guitar, “God Said You’re Gonna Make It” is a familiar-sounding, comfortingly confident affirmation of the truth revealed to believers in the story of Jesus in the storm:

Don’t worry over thunder, because you’re not going under
God said you’re gonna make it, you’re gonna make it for the Master’s on board

Β “The song,Β ‘God Said You’re Gonna Make It’Β has encouraged our hearts greatly,”Β Fayth testifies. “It’s a reminder that God WILL do what He has promised to do in His Word. Oftentimes, we are guilty of letting our emotions and fear control our actions. This song encourages every Christian to be of good cheer. If God said you’re gonna make it, then you’re gonna make it, because He is on board!”Listen toΒ “God Said You’re Gonna Make It” on Texas Gospel Canada!

Heaven’s Mountain Band Announces Retirement

SPECIAL FAMILY MUSIC BLUEGRASS

Nashville, TN (April 26, 2023) The multi-award-winning bluegrass gospel band, Heaven’s Mountain Band, has announced their retirement after 37 years of ministry. This comes after the unexpected passing of beloved group matriarch, Deborah Johnson.

Roger Johnson states, “Rodney and I have prayed and we feel it is time to retire the group. I will continue writing music as long as the Lord gives me songs to write! We’d like to thank everyone for the years on the road, for buying our music, and praying for us. Please continue to lift us up in prayer. This retirement is effective immediately.”

Heaven’s Moutain Band has established themselves as one of the top groups in bluegrass gospel today! Career highlights include 10 consecutive Singing News #1 songs, multi-Diamond Award winner and Singing News Fan Award nominee. They were blessed to perform at some of the most prestigious venues, such as Dollywood, Hominy Valley and Shadow Valley, but their heart was ministering in local churches across America.

Les Butler, FMG label owner and HMB fan states, “I personally believe the impact that HMB had on fans of REAL traditional Bluegrass Gospel Music will resonate for generations to come. The comments we’ve gotten at the office, as well as in person over the years, from music buyers and church members have been overwhelming. HMB was not your normal bluegrass gospel band. They were much more and much deeper than that. The retirement of the Primitive QT and HMB is leaving a cavernous hole; one that I’m not sure will ever be filled.”

Butler continues, “On a personal level, I simply don’t have the words for what the Johnson family has meant to me, my family, and FMG. My, how we will miss being with Debbie, Roger, Rodney Johnson, and all of HMB! This is truly a sad day for me.”

The Kingdom Heirs take on legendary songs on Something Good Volume 3

SPECIAL CROSSROADS MUSIC

Arden, North Carolina (April 7, 2023) β€” When a legendary group takes on legendary songs, the results are bound to be special β€” and indeed, the first two collections of favorites from the Kingdom Heirs were so well received that the quartet has returned to the well once more for Something Good, Volume 3, on Sonlite Records.

Like its predecessors, Something Good, Volume 3 finds the famed ensemble β€” now boasting a new lineup as they head toward their 40th year as Dollywood’s resident gospel group β€” drawing from the deep well of long-beloved yet ever-timely songs to create an album that will not only bring old memories to life, but make new ones, too.

“Over the past 6 years, we’ve recorded a series of albums entitled Something Good,” says singer Loren Harris. “This is the third volume in that series, with the current lineup of myself on lead and Andy Stringfield on baritone along with Jacob Ellison and Jeff Chapman on tenor and bass respectively. This recording, like the two before it, has some of our favorite songs that have been recorded over the years by other groups, by groups that we may have performed with, or remakes of Kingdom Heir classics!”

From the opening “I’m Forgiven,” a spirited, horn- and piano-driven celebration of God’s mercy that dates back to the late 1970s, to the classic quartet sound of the closing “Glory Road,” first introduced in 1973 by The KingsmenSomething Good, Volume 3 is a loving survey of Gospel music treasures, each given the Kingdom Heirs’ unique treatment. Country flavors predominate, with the pedal steel guitar and harmonica making regular appearances alongside the ever-present keyboards, but there is room for much more, too, including elaborate orchestrations that surround the quartet’s voices with a rich sonic tapestry on songs such as The Kingsmen’s “The Cross Has Won Again,” Happy Goodman Family’s “That Sounds Like Home To Me” and The Perrys’ “He Will Hide Me,” and a two-part arrangement of “Moving Up To Gloryland” that puts the Kingdom Heirs’ own unique stamp on the popular favorite. Indeed, with each song, whether it features Harris, Stringfield, Ellison or Chapman β€” or all four voices throughout β€” the Kingdom Heirs manage to summon echoes of earlier performances while shining through with a musical character and a spiritual richness that’s all theirs.

SaysΒ Harris, “I think you’ll enjoy this trip down memory lane as we relive this wonderful music that we love to sing” β€” and if the enthusiastic reception given by their fans to the previous volumes ofΒ Something GoodΒ is any indication, it’s a trip listeners will be happy to take over and over again.Listen toΒ Something Good, Volume 3 on Texas Gospel Canada!

Former Gold City bass vocalist Tim Riley hospitalized

David Ingram / Daywind Records

Retired Gold City bass vocalist Tim Riley was taken to hospital after suffering a stroke earlier this week. An email to Texas Gospel Canada from Daywind Records says Tim has since suffered an additional stroke and has been moved to the ICU. The strokes have affected Tim’s speech and make it difficult for him to communicate.

“We appreciate every prayer that is being sent up on Dad’s behalf,” said Tim’s son and Gold City leader Danny Riley.

Tim sang Bass for Gold City from 1982 until he retired in 2005. The group posted news of Tim’s condition on Facebook:
