Faith Amidst the Storm: Jesus’ Authority

FLOYD ROGERS

Out on the open water, a terrible storm struck. Strong winds sent powerful waves crashing against a small boat carrying the apostles. Terrified, they hurried to wake Jesus, certain they were about to drown. But Jesus did not panic or express fear. Instead, He rose and, seeing a light in the darkness, spoke calmly to the raging waters. “Peace, be still,” He commanded — and at once, the wind stopped, and the sea became perfectly calm.

This moment was more than just a miracle. It showed that Jesus holds complete authority over nature, as the Creator of the world. Whether people choose to accept His lordship or not, it does not change who He is. He remains sovereign over everything He has made.

And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and [a]it became perfectly calm.

Finding Peace Through Faith in Uncertain Times

FLOYD ROGERS

David’s life showed remarkable courage and faith. He believed, with certainty, that no matter what came his way, he could stand firm. Today, many people struggle with fear – afraid of what might happen next, anxious about the future, and weighed down by uncertainty. Yet, in the same difficult situations, others remain calm and strong within.

What makes the difference is their relationship with God. Those who stay close to Him, listen for His voice, and trust His guidance find peace even in trouble. They give thanks for God’s presence, for His strength, and for the way He provides in every need. Most of all, they trust that God will always be faithful to the promises found in His Word.

Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, I will also help you,
I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Isaiah 41:10

Overcoming Negative Voices Through Faith

FLOYD ROGERS

When life becomes difficult and challenges rise, one key to victory is knowing how to deal with discouraging voices around us. In hard times, people often hear negative comments and doubts from others. But it’s important not to let those words take hold in our hearts.

The most valuable thing a person can do during trouble is spend quiet, personal time with God. In those moments of reflection and prayer, God searches our hearts, strengthens our faith, and reminds us who we truly are. It’s through this quiet time that He prepares us for whatever battles we face.

During meditation, all the harsh words, doubts, and criticisms seem to lose their power. It’s like God places a filter over our ears, letting the negativity pass through without staying. As we stay close to Him, we gain peace and confidence to move forward.

Stop striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth

Psalm 46:10

Finding Strength in Faith During Difficult Times

FLOYD ROGERS

When life becomes difficult and we face personal struggles, it’s important to ask ourselves why we are seeking God’s help. Our main reason should always be to live in obedience to Him and to bring honour to His name. In every challenge, we need to check our hearts and be sure our desire is to follow His will.

In those hard moments, it’s also wise to stop and consider what might be happening around us. Sometimes, the enemy is trying to lead us away from God. Other times, it’s a moment to remember how God has helped us before. Through every past need and trouble, He has always provided what His people required.

Many people can manage difficulties for a little while, but those who truly leave a mark are the ones who remain faithful, patiently waiting for God’s perfect timing.

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

The Importance of Listening to God in Faith

FLOYD ROGERS

In any healthy relationship, communication must go both ways. This is true not only with people but also in our relationship with God. Many times, we focus on telling God what we need, how we feel, and what we hope for. While speaking to God is important, it is just as important — and often more difficult — to learn how to listen to Him.

Throughout history, God has spoken to His people in many ways, and He still speaks today. The challenge for many believers is not whether God is speaking, but whether we are truly listening. Good communication with God requires both talking and listening. If we only speak and never listen, we miss the wisdom, guidance, and comfort He wants to share.

Listening to God takes patience, humility, and a quiet heart. It may not come easily at first, but it is essential for a strong and growing faith.

You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;
