The Sound Releases Debut Recording with New Day Records Friday

NASHVILLE, TN (NOV 27, 2019) — One of the most highly-anticipated recordings of 2019 is set to be released Friday. The Sound, comprised of singer-songwriters Rob Mills, Levi Mills, and Jacob Mills, is generating the level of excitement for a new family group last seen in Southern Gospel with the arrival of the Booth Brothers.

Make It Count, The Sound’s debut album produced by Scott Godsey for New Day Records (Daywind Music Group), is a musical joyride balanced with soul-searching lyrics that takes the listener on a fantastic journey of encouragement and hope. The group’s first national radio single, “Can I Get a Witness,” has received significant national airplay and charted as a Singing News magazine top new release.

The band is receiving lots of interest from top promoters across the country. Clarke Beasley, executive director of the National Quartet Convention, Southern Gospel’s largest event with nearly 50,000 attendees, is an early adopter, stating, “At NQC 2020, we will be presenting The Sound in a featured set for the first time, and we are excited to be able to showcase the immense talent and versatility of this amazing new trio. We feel certain they have a bright future ahead of them.”

New Day Records’ president, Ed Leonard, shared, “Every once in a great while, a new ‘sound’ emerges in our genre that changes everything. The youthful energy and talent contained in The Sound, ignited by the Mills’ personal passions for their music, strongly indicates a genre-impacting possibility. I am so excited to see what they do and can’t wait for people to experience what we have while working with them.”

New Day Records is home to The Sound, along with 62nd GrammyÂŽ Award nominee Tim Menzies, Lefevre Quartet, HighRoad, and the Griffith Family. The label is distributed to retail through New Day Christian Distributors and the Orchard, covering all physical, digital, and streaming outlets.

The Browns release 2019 Christmas album

Nashville, TN (November 22, 2019) – Just in time for the Christmas season, StowTown Records announces the digital release of a new Christmas recording from one of Christian music’s most talented musical families, The Browns. Christmas In Our Hometown features Shelly, Michaela, Adam and Andrew, collectively known as The Browns, at their very best, with moving harmonies and classic instrumentation.

Growing up in rural Iowa, near the quiet town of Le Mars, less than a 30 minute drive from the neighboring state of South Dakota, The Browns enjoyed the simple pleasures of life on a farm. As family matriarch Shelly Brown explains, “There wasn’t a lot to do for entertainment, so the kids learned to entertain themselves.” Their natural love of music quickly began to capture the attention of the locals and before long, that local attention turned to national recognition. Christmas In Our Hometown is a reflection of those early days on the farm and the Christmas traditions they created in their loving, family environment.

Christmas In Our Hometown features numerous Christmas classics, including “There’s No Place Like Home For The Holidays” and “Over The River and Through The Woods.” The Browns also added their unique stylings to cover tunes like “I’d Still Like To Go To Grandma’s House For Christmas,” “Tennessee Christmas” and the Dolly Parton favorite, “I’ll Be Home With Bells On.” Brand new selections include the title cut, as well as “When You’re Home For Christmas,” “Night of Hope” and “Irish Christmas Blessing.” Additionally, the recording includes an instrumental version of the Christmas classic, “Sleigh Ride.” This particular selection includes the Browns at their best, delivering the masterful violin performance for which they are so recognized.

Throughout the past five years, the musical family has enjoyed hosting performances at their very own Browns Century Theater in their hometown of Le Mars. In 2015, the musical family kicked off their inaugural year, hosting 10 Christmas shows. This season, the family will perform to sold-out crowds five days a week during November and December. Last year during the Christmas season, multi-award winning producer, Wayne Haun visited the Theater and was so captivated by the “town square Christmas” feeling the evening evoked, he was compelled to produce a recording that would stir the same feelings of energy and Christmas cheer that he felt on that cold, December evening in Iowa. “When I saw this show on stage, it didn’t matter that I was in Le Mars, IA,” Haun reflects. “The Browns and this wonderful music transported me back to my hometown in Tennessee. I could literally smell the hot chocolate. It’ll take you there, too. Trust me!”

“We are thrilled with the selections on this recording,” Michaela Brown explains. “Some are our personal family favorites that we used to sing in the car on the way from the farm to town when we were young children. Some are originals that we had a hand in writing, which always make them special, since we can put our own Christmas memories and thoughts into the music we share with our friends! We hope everyone loves this project as much as we loved creating it.”

For more than 15 years, The Browns have brought joy to listeners with their musical talents, rich family harmonies and exuberant energy. This latest Christmas recording will no doubt bring listeners even more joy for decades to come.

HighRoad Releases Highly-Anticipated Debut Album on New Day Records

High Road

NASHVILLE, TN (NOV 15, 2019) —  Produced by multiple GrammyÂŽ nominee, Ben Isaacs, the debut self-titled album by HighRoad released today, is packed full of beautifully written  songs sure to lift listeners’ spirits. HighRoad, 2018’s Singing News New Artist of the Year features Sarah Davidson (vocals and piano), Kristen Bearfield (mandolin, guitar, banjo, and vocals), Kinsey Rose (guitar and vocals), and Lauren Conklin (fiddle). This tremendously talented quartet, whose members have toured with George Jones and Mark Wills and backed up Jimmy Fortune and Bradley Walker on Gaither Homecoming videos, has certainly delivered their best album to date.

HighRoad is jam-packed with hit songs, from the Ralph Stanley classic “Two Coats” and Thomas Dorsey-penned standard “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” to future fan-favorites co-written by group members Davison, Rose, Bearfield, and Conklin, along with some of today’s greatest composers including Michael Farren, Tony Wood, Kenna West, Devin McGlamery, and Nathan Woodard. Farren and Wood combined with Davidson to bring us “Nothing At All,” HighRoad’s first radio single off the album.

A cut that may well become the group’s theme song is “High Road,” written by Pete Sallis and Tia Sillers.  This is a triple-rarity of sorts, which may prompt fans to beg radio to play “High Road” by HighRoad from HighRoad.  The song has an incredibly uplifting feel, expressing perfectly the joy these gifted ladies bring to their ministry and this album.

The new album arrives on the heels of HighRoad’s recent crossover success in the bluegrass genre. Big changes for the LeFevre Quartet

Lefevre

A big announcement came via a  Facebook LIVE and YouTube LIVE event Monday evening!  Mike LeFevre announced some changes for the LeFevre Quartet.  Departing will be Jeremy Peace and Keith Plott.  Mike says no one is mad at each other and change is inevitable.  The new version of the LeFevre quartet will have a very familiar name being added for tenor, Jay Parrack!

Jay was a loved member of Gold City for over a decade.  During that time, he won the Singing New Fan Award for “Favorite Young Artist” five times and the Singing News Fan Award for “Favorite Tenor” twice! To say he is a fan favorite, is an understatement.  Also joining the group in the bass position, Will Lane.

No doubt, we’ll be looking forward to what LeFevre Quartet will bring in 2020 with this new sound.

The Perrys keep movin’ along with new recording

Nashville, TN (October 25, 2019) – After more than two years, fan favorite Southern Gospel artist The Perrys have released their brand new project, Keep Movin’ Along. This StowTown Records release is available at all retail and digital outlets worldwide via Sony/Provident Distribution.

The Perrys, comprised of Libbi Perry Stuffle, Troy Peach, Andrew Goldman and Jared Stuffle, have always chosen their material carefully. They take their mission to share the Gospel quite seriously, that does not mean sugar coating life to make everything seem easy. The last several years were difficult for the group as they cared for one of their own while continuing to travel and minister. With the passing of beloved bass singer Tracy Stuffle, the last two years have taken them through a journey of grief and of hope, which gives them even more to sing about. “It’s been over two years since The Perrys have released an album with all new material,” Troy shares. “It’s amazing to look back at what all could transpire in two years. Keep Movin’ Along is filled with songs that tell where we are, where we’ve been and where we’re going! We are excited to share this new season of life that God has afforded us.”

Keep Movin’ Along was produced and arranged by StowTown Records co-owner Wayne Haun. As someone who has walked on the hilltops and through the valleys with The Perrys over the last twenty years, he knows them, their story and their heart better than most people. “Of all the projects I’ve produced for The Perrys, this has to be the most diverse. It is heartfelt, fun, emotional, and it is groovy. Not only that, but you get to hear Libbi soar all the way up to a high B-flat on the ballad (“Take You to the Cross”) – and she never once complained!”

The diversity Haun speaks of can be found in many aspects from song styles to songwriters to packaging. The Perrys are known to include a convention style song on each release, but this is the first time that song has been the title cut. Thirteen different songwriters contributed to the seven songs, including (former Perrys member) Joseph Habedank, Scotty Inman and Kenna Turner West. As the first recording following the death of Tracy, The Perrys knew that they wanted everything to convey the joy and hope they’ve chosen to embrace these last two years – and the bright colors of the cover photo were intentionally selected to show that visually.

Even with this variety, the message and theme is consistent: God is faithful, God is always there, God loves you, and God is the answer. As Libbi has shared with fans, no matter what you are going through, God is, and always has been, there. And that is the message they continue to share through their music ministry as they Keep Movin’ Along.
