Gospel Musician and Evangelist Nancy Harmon Passes Away

Nancy Harmon, renowned gospel musician and evangelist known for her passionate ministry and musical contributions, has died. Her passing was announced early this morning by her ministry, with her death occurring around 4 a.m.

A Facebook post by her ministry says, “Although my heart is broken, what rejoicing is going on right now in the Heavenlies. Our beautiful Nancy Harmon made her home going this morning around 4 a.m. No more pain, no more Alzheimer, no more struggles…nothing but joy and peace. I will miss you all my days, but I’ll see you soon. Go rest high, Love Special Lady! Arrangements will be made at a later date. Right now we are simply resting and thanking God for this beautiful gift.”

Harmon was a lifelong musician who dedicated her career to religious music and ministry. Beginning her musical journey at age 18, she played the organ in churches across multiple cities, including Kansas City, Missouri, and later expanded her ministry to locations such as San Jose, California, Portland, Oregon, and the Dallas Fort Worth area.

In 2022, Harmon received recognition for her contributions when she was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kenneth Copeland Bible College. She was particularly known for her song “More Than Anything in My Life,” which was said to capture her deep spiritual devotion.

Throughout her career, Harmon was supported by prominent religious leaders, including Pastors George and Terri Pearsons at Eagle Mountain Church and Kenneth and Gloria Copeland. Her ministry emphasized music as a vehicle for spiritual teaching and guidance.

Harmon believed her musical calling was predetermined, stating that God placed a song in her heart from the moment of her birth. She was remembered for her compassionate approach to ministry and her ability to touch people’s lives through music and faith.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by her ministry.

Veteran Gospel Trio Paid In Full Releases New Album “Louder”

Southern gospel trio Paid In Full has unveiled the trio’s latest studio album, “Louder,” in collaboration with StowTown Records. The release marks the group’s second project with the label, following their 30th anniversary digital release in 2021.

Distributed exclusively by Provident/Sony, Louder is available on all digital platforms worldwide.

The album, produced by 41-time Dove Award winner Wayne Haun, features six tracks written by renowned industry songwriters. Standout songs include “I Can’t Do It By Myself,” which explores themes of grace and mercy, and the title track “Love Is Louder,” described by group member Jeff Crews as an upbeat melody with a message of God’s faithfulness.

Lance Moore, the group’s lead vocalist, co-wrote “Better With A Friend,” a country-flavoured track emphasizing unity and companionship. Moore states, “Life is filled with uncertainty, but God is always faithful, and He is the greatest Friend we will ever have.”

Paid In Full, formed in 1991, has built a reputation for delivering polished performances both on and off stage. Early in their career, they caught the attention of gospel legend Jake Hess, who mentored the group and appeared on their 1998 recording.

In the landscape of Christianity, the number of truly great churches appears to be dwindling. These churches are not defined by their financial resources, grand buildings, or large congregations, but rather by their commitment to serving the Lord and bringing Him glory. Psalm 100 offers a compelling framework for what it means to be a great church, highlighting the essential role of praise in the life of a vibrant community of believers.

The psalmist calls us to worship with unrestrained joy, urging us to make a “joyful noise” that includes singing, shouting, preaching, and praying. This exuberant worship flows from glad hearts that are fully engaged in expressing their love and adoration for our Creator. As verse 2 states, “Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing.” This invitation is not just for individuals but for the entire congregation to unite in joyful praise.

Our motivation for praise is deeply rooted in the character of God Himself. He is Elohim, the strong one; Jehovah, the self-existent one; and Adonai, our Master. As our Creator and Shepherd, He cares for us with unwavering love and attention. His goodness, mercy, and truth form the foundation of our worship, inspiring gratitude that naturally overflows into praise.

While we are encouraged to praise God everywhere and at all times, the church serves as a unique space for communal worship. The psalmist invites us to “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.”

This collective expression of adoration brings together believers from diverse backgrounds and generations. As we reflect on our individual expressions of worship, it is important to recognize that our emotional responses may differ. Some may express their praise through tears, while others may do so with smiles or laughter, and still others may shout for joy. Regardless of how we choose to express it, our praise should be a sincere outpouring of reverence for the One who is truly worthy of all honour and glory. In this way, we can all contribute to a vibrant culture of worship within our churches and communities across Canada.

Anthem Edition has announced the addition of Kevin Davis as their new pianist, a decision that marks an exciting new chapter for the Southern Gospel group. Based in Villa Rica, Georgia, Anthem Edition is known for its vibrant performances and commitment to sharing the Gospel through music.

Kevin Davis, a California native, brings over two decades of experience in Southern Gospel music to the ensemble. He previously spent nearly 20 years with the Nelons, where he honed his skills and connected with audiences on some of the world’s largest stages. Tim Rackley and Doug Roark, founding members of Anthem Edition, expressed their enthusiasm for Davis’s arrival, stating, “Kevin Davis is a perfect fit for Anthem Edition. His experience, heart for ministry, and unmatched skill at the piano comes at an exciting time as we prepare to release our new album, Promises Kept, in January.”

Davis himself shared his excitement about joining the group: “I am honored to join Anthem Edition in this new chapter of ministry. The opportunity to combine my passion for music and my calling to serve God with a group as passionate and talented as Anthem Edition is a blessing.”

Celebrating New Life: Sarah Davison Welcomes Daughter Ruth Ann

Sarah Davison, a member of High Road, has recently experienced a challenging but joyous journey into motherhood. After a difficult period, Sarah and her husband Trevor welcomed their daughter Ruth Ann in November. The family faced some obstacles, as their newborn spent time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) before finally coming home.

Expressing her gratitude, Sarah shared, “We are so excited to announce that we got to come home this week from the NICU with our sweet little daughter Ruth Ann who was born earlier in the month of November”. The couple is now cherishing their time together as a family, preparing for their first Christmas with their new addition.
