Trusting God’s Timing

FLOYD ROGERS

Sometimes, it feels like God is silent. When we don’t see visible signs of change, we might think nothing is happening. However, the truth is that God is always there, even when we cannot see what he is doing. The problem often comes when His timing does not match what we think it should be. We expect answers when we want them, and when that doesn’t happen, we might believe God isn’t listening or acting.

But Scripture reminds us that God moves on behalf of those who wait for Him. Isaiah 64:4 says, God acts for those who wait for Him. This means He is constantly at work, arranging things according to His perfect plan, not our hurried expectations. The important choice we have is whether we will trust Him enough to follow His schedule instead of demanding our own.

Hope and strength come from staying close to God’s Word, listening for His guidance, and trusting that He is working for our good, even in the unseen moments.

Confusion About Christ’s Return

AMY TURNER

Many people today are troubled by confusing messages about the return of Jesus Christ. Some claim to have new prophecies or special insight, causing fear and uncertainty among believers. But the Bible warns us not to be easily shaken by these things.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3, Paul reminds the church not to be alarmed by false reports saying the day of the Lord has already happened. He urges believers to stay calm and not be fooled by anyone, whether it’s through strange teachings, rumours, or letters pretending to be from church leaders.

It’s important for Christians to hold tightly to what the Bible truly teaches about Christ’s return. God’s promises in Scripture remain steady and trustworthy. Instead of chasing after every new voice claiming to know the future, we should focus on the timeless words of God.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

Marriage and Family Dynamics

JEFF TURNER

Marriage marks a significant turning point in a person’s life, particularly in how family relationships are structured. One important change happens in the bond between a man and his parents. In Matthew 19:5, Jesus explained, “A man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife.” This passage speaks to more than just moving out of the family home.

In ancient times, families often lived close together, sometimes adding rooms to the family house as children married. Physical distance wasn’t the main issue. The true meaning lies in a shift of authority and responsibility. When a man marries, he steps out from under his parents’ leadership. He no longer answers to their authority in the same way he once did.

At the same time, the father of the bride releases his role of care and guidance over his daughter. The husband now takes on both authority and responsibility in the home. This authority isn’t harsh or controlling; rather, it is meant to be gentle, loving, and centred on guiding his family towards faith and righteousness. Marriage, then, reshapes family roles, creating a new household where mutual care and spiritual leadership are vital.

For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.

Nelon Family Establishes New Scholarship for Students

JEFF TURNER

The Nelon family has announced a new scholarship opportunity for students pursuing higher education. Named the “We’ve Always Had a Song Scholarship,” this initiative honours the family’s legacy and their love for education.

Todd Nelon shared details about the scholarship, explaining its significance to his family.
“We are now offering, in honour of our family, the Nielons, a college scholarship. It’s called ‘We’ve Always Had a Song Scholarship’ and in what better way could we honour Kelly and Amber and the family because they loved school,” said Nelon. “So we decided to start a scholarship because, you know, we have always had a song.”

The scholarship is open to all students, whether they plan to attend college or trade school. Applicants are encouraged to share information about themselves, including their goals, career aspirations, intended degree programmes, and the school they plan to attend.
Those interested in applying should send their information to Rhonda Nelon via email at rhondanelon@gmail.com.

For those wishing to contribute financially to the scholarship fund, information is available on the Facebook pages of Todd Nelon and Autumn Nelon.

This scholarship represents an opportunity for deserving students to pursue their educational dreams with support from the Nelon family.
