A growing desire for God and a deeper comfort in His presence are important signs of spiritual growth. Believers can often tell whether their hearts are becoming more devoted to the Lord or whether the things of this world are taking a greater place in their lives.

Time alone with God reveals a lot about a person’s relationship with Him. If being in prayer feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar, it may be a sign that more time is needed in His presence.

Rather than avoiding those moments, believers are encouraged to remain before the Lord and come to know Him more personally.

Come close to God and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
