Jonathan Wilburn is bringing back some classic gospel hits on his latest project, Songs From The Front Pew. His new single, “Old Blind Bartimaeus,” is a standout track, and Jonathan recalls fond memories of where he first heard the song.
“The first time I heard the song, Blind Bartimaeus, was my friends, The Bishops. Back in the 80s,” said Jonathan.
“The Wilburns and The Bishops, we did a lot of traveling together, concerts all over the country. And they would get up each night and sing the acapella version of that song. I’ve always just loved it. I love the tune, but more than anything, I love what it says.”
While The Bishops may not have been the original performers, their version left a lasting impact on Jonathan, and now he’s bringing that cherished song back to life with his own heartfelt rendition.
