Update from Nick Trammell- LeResa’s son

Today was very encouraging day! I understand that this can be a roller coaster, so today was an up. At this point, baby steps are huge, and she took several with little movements here and there. She would briefly open her eyes at times and would follow to one side before closing them again. She also could slightly move her feet. She responded to a stimulation test this evening by lifting her arms, which was a first. Every little movement and change in facial expression is such an exciting change considering there was nothing yesterday. We are finding out it could take days, or possibly even weeks before she becomes very alert. We are praying that it’s just days, but are prepared to just be patient. She is still on the vent, and most expressions are agitation because of it, but they say she’s breathing on her own. She just needs to be more alert, and pass a few tests before they remove it. It will be a long, slow process, and changes will more than likely be incremental. I’ll update again if there is a major change from this. She is already going to be upset at us for sharing as much as we have. 🙂
This is just a note from me personally. I have never been in a position like this before. No son wants to see his mother in this shape. When it’s someone else, you are one person offering what support you can, and then you go on with your day. When you’re the one receiving the support from so many, it’s absolutely overwhelming. We have felt the love and the prayers more than we could ever explain. Thank you all so much. You’ll never know what it means to us.

The southern gospel community is coming together in prayer for LeResa Trammell, wife of renowned gospel artist Mark Trammell. On Thursday, LeResa experienced a medical emergency at work, collapsing unexpectedly. She was swiftly transported by ambulance to the local hospital, where she became unresponsive shortly after arrival.
Mark Trammell shared an update on Facebook, detailing the harrowing experience. Initially, doctors suspected a stroke, but after extensive testing and a second CT scan, they ruled out any brain bleed. The final diagnosis revealed that LeResa is suffering from a severe case of viral meningitis, a condition that can mimic stroke symptoms in certain ways. To aid her recovery, she has been placed on a ventilator to allow her body to rest.
Mark and their son Nick have returned home to be by her side. LeResa is currently being airlifted to Birmingham for further treatment, and the family hopes to reunite with her upon her arrival.
The Trammell family is in need of support and prayers during this challenging time. The entire southern gospel community is encouraged to lift LeResa, Mark, Nick, and their loved ones in prayer as they navigate this difficult journey.
