Ernie Haase & Signature Sound releases live performance DVD Keeping On Live!

Nashville, TN (April 29, 2022) â€“ It’s more than a mantra or song title. In true Ernie Haase fashion, he’s “keeping on” with another musical offering for fans. Coming out of a difficult time for live performances, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound recorded a live concert DVD just as soon as it was possible to do so. Keeping On Live!, recorded last year at the Gaither Studios in Alexandria, IN, is available today wherever gospel music is sold.

The album Keeping On has had tremendous success since its release in July 2021 having received a GRAMMY® nomination for Roots Gospel Album of the Year, as well as a GMA Dove Award nomination for Southern Gospel Song of the Year for “Wake Up,” the first single from this album. Additionally, EHSS was honored with the GMA Dove Award for Southern Gospel Artist of the Year and the Singing News Fan Award for Quartet of the Year. Yet with these accolades, Ernie Haase, Dustin Doyle, Doug Anderson and Paul Harkey have kept their focus on creating music and staying connected with fans, all the while encouraging them to “Keep On Keeping On.” Their weekly online shows, originally started during the 2020 touring season, have been a welcomed Friday night mainstay for many. And while EHSS is blessed to be invited into people’s homes, nothing can take the place of a live concert experience.

“The words to ‘Keep On Keeping On’ were written from a personal experience,” shares Ernie Haase. “Thank God He had something new, something fresh, something more for us. It became another level of living and thinking. It is my prayer that this full length DVD of those songs from our Keeping On album will not only bless others, but also remind them in many ways that ‘God can be trusted’ through every part of the journey.”

Mark Trammell Quartet seeks new vocalist

The Mark Trammell Quartet is actively accepting resumes and demos to fill the bass vocalist opening created by Randy Byrd’s departure. Earlier this month the group announced Randy was leaving due to medical reasons.

Mark Trammel has been singing Gospel music for more than four decades. He formed the Mark Trammell Trio in 2002. The group became a quartet in 2010 and continues in that form today.

Jon Epley celebrates five year with Greater Vision

Greater Vision’s Jon Epley is celebrating five years with the group. Jon is from Fordsville, KY. He began singing with his family when he was 2-years-old. Through the years he’s been with multiple Gospel Music groups and landed with Greater Vision in 2017.

“They say time flies when you’re having fun, and I know that’s true because I’ve had a lot of fun here and five years has flown by,” said Jon.

Jon said it all began with a text message from Gerald Wolfe on a sunday night asking for him to come to Gerald’s house to sing through some songs with him, Chris and Rodney, Gerald wanted to see how it sounded.

Jon recalled the days before he knew if he would become part of Greater Vision.

“Then he said, ‘what are you doing Wednesday? and I said ‘well, I can take the day off.’ And he said do that because if it goes good Tuesday night, we’ll go into the studio on Wednesday and record a new album,” said Jon.

Things went well and Jon went on to have that first recording date in the studio as they laid down the tracks for the group’s Still album.

Jon and his wife, Tiffany, reside in Johnson City, Tennessee, where they are members of Piney Flats First Baptist Church.

Former Gold City bass vocalist Tim Riley hospitalized

Retired Gold City bass vocalist Tim Riley was taken to hospital after suffering a stroke earlier this week. An email to Texas Gospel Canada from Daywind Records says Tim has since suffered an additional stroke and has been moved to the ICU. The strokes have affected Tim’s speech and make it difficult for him to communicate.

“We appreciate every prayer that is being sent up on Dad’s behalf,” said Tim’s son and Gold City leader Danny Riley.

Tim sang Bass for Gold City from 1982 until he retired in 2005. The group posted news of Tim’s condition on Facebook:

Tribute Quartet records modern version of a 1950’s classic.

To say the Tribute Quartet’s latest single, “Not My Will” is a classic southern gospel song may be an understatement. The oldest recording of the song we have in our library is an album from 1958 on GBS records titled, The Florida Boys Quartet and Their 11th Anniversary Album. The writer according to the label on the decades-old disk is Arthur Smith.

Tribute’s Gus Gaches mentioned the Florida Boys as he described the song, but says his group did something a little different from other versions.

“One of the reasons we did the song Not My Will was because of all of our familiarity with the Florida Boys cut. But one of the things we decided to do differently than most of the versions we had heard was to include a second verse.”

Gus said the new recording wasn’t just about the music.

“We just thought that the lyric was so strong in that second verse that we just didn’t want to do it without having that there. And I’m so glad that we did it because it’s such a great lyric.”

The song is included on Tribute’s “Quartet Tribute” project released last year with the single released to radio this year.
